My name is Joe Meyer and I'm running for US congress in Oregon's 3rd district.
Like 90% of Americans I've known for sometime that money has too much influence in our elections.
What got me off the couch at this time is the US/Israeli genocide in Palestine
The genocide and our governments denial of reality.
We see horrible images of torn children and bombed hospitals and Blinken says he will ask Israel about that.
We see starvation and mass graves and Austin says that the Pentagon's procedure hasn't turned up anything on that.
Biden sets a red line, which Israel mocks, and then our President seems to forget all about that and sends more and more weapons.
What got me into this race is the growing Israeli control of our congress.
AIPAC brags that they supported 90 candidates in Democrat primaries across the country and all 90 won.
Then spent over 10 million in NY to get rid of Jamal Bowmen, a similar amount in Missouri to get rid of Cory Bush, and, in this race AIPAC spent over 5 million to knockout front runner Suseela Jayapal and install their softer-on-genocide candidate Maxine Dexter.
It is not a democracy if a genocidal foreign interest controls our Representatives.
I'm running for Congress because the first responsibility of the US government is the regular US citizen: not the wealthiest 1%; not big oil; not endless wars and genocides.
