Tashlich 5785

Jewish Voices for Peace held an open Tashlich at Salmon Street Springs in Portland today, everyone welcome.

I thought Tashlich might be like the German Tischlich which would likely have something to do with food. They did have snacks and Tashlich is the ritual of casting off. We cast off isolation, laziness, arriving so late to the Palestinian plight.

Casting off comes with responsibility to build community, work earnestly, and to advocate for Palestine. We take this responsibility in community and we hold each other accountable.

When one of us misses the mark we all take responsibility for not supporting, steadying the one.
